Kirigami is a kind of origami, except with respect to cuts, too! Check out Daniel Wyllie s excellent L. Kirigami Rodrigues geometric shapes. The image above is called five areas of persistence. Each of the five areas is a cube, an octahedron and a rhombic dodecahedron in the top of the other.
The image below is a rhombic dodecahedron with a sphere inside papercraft that Daniel did as a gift to his father.
